OVERVIEW

Spending almost a year living in Kunming, China, I had the opportunity to hone skills in photography and graphic design as I explored new passions and immersed myself in a vastly different culture from my own. The contrasts in design and architectural practices throughout China, Korea, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Thailand were very interesting to observe during my travels, and upon my return to Canada, I decided pursue the prospect of compiling my experiences into small book.

Partnering with Dr. Luna Khirfan at the University of Waterloo, I was able to begin writing and designing ‘Eastern Innovation’, taking readers on a journey through urban design in Asian cities, focusing on how various public open spaces have fostered vibrant and active communities.
